When Joule Case approached Gigantic in 2021, it was looking for more than just a website update—it sought a strategic shift. Joule Case, a company known for its innovative stackable, portable battery solutions, had been operating primarily as an e-commerce business. Its products allowed consumers to power anything from small electronics to entire homes. However, as the company grew, it needed to differentiate itself from competitors and clarify its complex story. Joule Case needed more than just a facelift; it needed a redefined digital presence and business strategy.
The approach
Standing Out in a Competitive Market
At the time, Joule Case was on the verge of launching their new product, Sigma, an upgraded battery with groundbreaking technological advancements. However, despite their superior technology, Joule Case faced stiff competition from brands like EcoFlow and Blue Yeti, whose lower-priced and lighter products were dominating the consumer market. Joule Case's portable batteries, while technologically advanced, were heavier and priced significantly higher, making it difficult for the average consumer to see the value.
The Joule Case team craved a clear strategy to help scale the business. We quickly identified that Joule Case had an opportunity to expand their offering to appeal to a broader, more enterprise-focused audience.

With their patented technology and ability to serve large-scale energy needs, Joule Case had the potential to pivot away from the consumer market and toward enterprise solutions. This realization was pivotal in reshaping their marketing website and overall brand narrative.
We began by redeveloping their website to showcase not only the Sigma product but also the full scope of Joule Case's technology platform. The new site introduced Joule Case as a solution provider, capable of serving industries like transportation, construction, and government sectors with high energy demands.
A Strategic Pivot From E-commerce to Enterprise Sales
The marketing website redesign was just the beginning. Alongside the updated design, we advised Joule Case to shift their sales model from direct-to-consumer e-commerce to a more traditional B2B sales approach. We replaced the "Buy Now" functionality with a "Contact for Sales" feature and helped them build out a sales team focused on enterprise-level opportunities. This allowed them to engage with larger clients who needed scalable energy solutions for applications such as live events, food trucks, and even defense contracts.
Gigantic’s work didn’t stop at the website launch. Over time, we helped Joule Case develop marketing content for their new enterprise services division—Joule Case Energy Services—targeted at industries like government, defense, and rental companies. Their new positioning allowed them to speak to high-power-need customers with unique challenges and scale beyond the consumer market.

Renewable energy marketing is complex and required a unique approach. From a design perspective, the challenge was to create a visual identity that resonated with both industrial clients and more traditional consumer audiences. We merged visual cues from the tech industry with those from large-scale industrial applications. The result was a brand that balanced innovation and scalability, with clean, approachable design elements underpinned by the strength and durability of Joule Case’s products.
A key part of the visual system we developed was the use of schematic-like line art, which not only symbolized the precision and engineering behind Joule Case’s technology but also reinforced the brand’s industrial roots. Coupled with strong product photography, this visual language helped communicate the company’s commitment to innovation and reliability.

Since the launch of their new site, Joule Case has successfully transitioned from an e-commerce business to an successful enterprise-level solutions provider. They exceeded their fundraising goals and have secured contracts with major clients, including government entities and large-scale industrial operations. Today, Joule Case Energy Services works with clients across a range of industries, delivering energy solutions that go beyond portable batteries.
